While Legend Management Group focuses on “Building a Sense of Community” at each of our properties, we are also focused on the communities around us. Our employees and residents strive to make a difference in the lives of others through our community outreach.

The Ronald
McDonald House
Charity

  • Legend Management Group annually organizes a Team Elms group to run/walk in the Red Shoe Run/Walk. In 2013, Team Elms was awarded “Largest Team” and “Most Funds Raised”.
  • Legend employees and residents have also volunteered at the local Ronald McDonald House in Fairfax, VA. The team has helped with cleaning, light maintenance, landscaping, cooking and decorating.
  • Teams have also held toy drives and prepared Easter baskets for the families staying at the house.
  • Food Drives

  • Legend properties have collected food for Food for Others, NVAA, Kennedy Krieger Institute and Germantown Help.
  • Blood Drives

  • A number of Legend properties have hosted blood drives for the American Red Cross.
  • Toys for Tots

  • Legend Management holds toy drives at each property for Toys for Tots every holiday season.

    a Difference

  • Legend has had teams participate in a number of races in the Washington, DC, area which raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Cool Kids Campaign, The Dwelling Place, Inc., Operation Second Chance and Compassion International.

  • Legend Management Group employees and residents came together to help those affected by the hurricanes. Legend donated $18,690 in application fees and our teams and residents raised another $1,174 to give to those in need.
  • Food & Friends

  • During Employee Appreciation Month Legend Management Group purchased 145 pies from Food & Friends' Slice of Life Campaign. Each pie provides one full day of meals for our neighbors in the DMV living with a critical illness. This year, Slice of Life also donated 10% of all funds raised to Bill's Kitchen in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
  • District Alliance for Safe Housing (D.A.S.H.):

  • Legend Management Group holds an annual “Denim Against Domestic Violence” drive, allowing team members to wear denim to work on a select day in exchange for a donation to the non-profit. Legend Management Group also collects toys around the holiday season to donate to the residents of D.A.S.H. for their holiday store where residents can select gifts for their children.
  • Breast Cancer Awareness

    In October, Legend Management Group holds events at communities to support and raise awareness for those in their community and surrounding areas.
